Ark. Houses override veto on Photo Id Bill

The article written by Andrew Demillo on Yahoo News is about how Arkansas house want to override Democrat Mike Beebe for requiring voters to have a photo id before casting a ballot.  The new law says that  Arkansas will have to provide a Id for those who do not have an Id, costing the state at least 300,000. This law wont be taken in effect until January. The reason why Arkansas wanted to have this law is just in case of a possible voter fraud. The article says that " if a voter doesn't show identification,  poll workers indicate so on the precinct other registration list and the county election board can send information to prosecutors." The bill will allows people who do not have a photo id to have cast provisional ballots but won't be counted if they don't provide an id to the county election officials or, before noon on Monday of the election. If you are indigent or have religious objectives to be photographed, you can sign an affidavit. There have already been at least 19 other states who want to enact a voter photo Id law.  Georgia, Indiana, Kansas and Tennessee all already have similar strict photo Id requirements laws in effect. Virginia will also be having a strict photo id for voters in effect on January 2014, which was signed by Gov. Bon Mcdonnel. Some other people feel as though this would measure  out or " disenfranchise" citizen, minorities, and the poor. The American Civil Liberties Union of Arkansas says its "unconstitutional." The bill exempts voter who live in nursing homes and other long-term care facilities.

Violence Against Woman Act

I found this article Violence Against Woman Act on Talking Points Memo. The Article was written by Shali Kapur. The author’s audiences are for men and woman to recognize the act against woman violence. The audience are also for those who have someone in their life that have experience it, people who are against it, and woman who are in the same situation. The author claims that some of the republicans are simply just saying they are for the VAWA but instead vote against it. The author is also saying that the republicans are giving the people the illusion of choosing the right side but instead “[preserving their credibility with conservative groups who vowed to punished those who voted for VAWA]”.  The claim that the author gives are about Republican Steve King who is a stated that he supported the bill because he understood the importance of reauthorizing VAWA. He quotes “[I supported this legislation because I know how important it is to empower woman in difficult situations.]”  The author evidence was how King didn’t mention he voted against House passage of VAWA but instead voted for a Republican substitute, which didn't go through. The author also claimed another Republican named Vicky Hartzler who voted for GOP( Grand Old Party) version but not VAWA but still took credit.  Hartzler said “ I am pleased to support efforts to protect all woman in this country from domestic abuse and other form of violence. Violence against woman, in all its forms, is unacceptable”. The author claimed even though the questionable Republicans are being recognized, there are more republicans that are going the same footsteps as Republican Steve King and Republican Vicky Hartzler. In my opinion, I do believe the republicans are taking more credit than they should be. They believe that if they are going to vote for a GOP alternative, it is like voting for the Violence Against Woman Act.  I believe congress today would not recognized that VAWA is a more effective act but instead go for something less effective just for the sake of their own reputation.

Mindy McCready

This article is about Mindy McCready's death on USA Today on how someone who have been suicidal should not own a gun. It is also about the opinions of Rob Eggleston, Bill Hart, Molly Jones, Greg Harvey on Mindy McCredy's death. The audience this article is trying to persuade are for those people who should realize that suicide is a very disturbed disease of depression and is very open to talk about in the public.  They also believed that suicide should become legal. Greg Harvey’s  opinion says that Mindy McCready’s death was caused by depression which lead to drugs and alcohol. Many people do have a struggling battle with drugs and alcohol.
It happens to the people you love, famous icons and family members.
Since Mindy McCready killed herself with a gun, people are using this suicide as a debate against gun control.  Rob Eggleston and Bill Hart both believed that her death should not be the highlights on gun control because she was battling depression for many years and had successful suicides. One of the writers opinion says that could have used pills to kill her instead of using a gun and people would have accepted that.  In my opinion, I do agree that people should not use this tragedy for banning guns or having gun control over. I believe that there are many other ways anybody could use to self-harm themselves and put them in danger. I believed that people who are looked upon and famous should be a stronger idol to those who lived in this civilization because people look up to you and if your showing that suicidal is okay then many people who are going through depression would fall also in that trap as well. It takes a lot of courage to show that you are battling depression but people should understand that it can become a disease if is not taken care of. Nobody would want to see a loved one suffer or anybody they know go through such terrifying pain.

Christopher Dorner

Christopher Dorner was an ex-cop and also been in the Navy. He was charged for making a false statement and a false complaint. Later, he was fired from being a LAPD cop. This article is worth reading because it tells you the background of what happened before Christopher became a wanted man. This man has already fatally killed the daughter of an ex- LAPD cop and also her fiance  Christopher Dorner also killed a cop and injured two other. This article tells you how the situation started and why he is seeking for revenge. It also tells you about his personal life, his family background, and his inspiration of wanting to become a cop. I believe this article is worth reading because it gives you more of a background on Christopher who used to be a part of the U.S navy and fighting for our country and someone who was well respected as being a cop. It’s also worth reading because it shows a situation that you worked hard for to earn is all lost because of situations Christopher put himself in and now seeking revenge and hunting for those who have gone against him. Christopher insanely said “When the truth comes out; the killing stops.” I believe Christopher is at the stage where he does not care about his consequences what so ever when he gets caught.
